Lisieux, Saint-Germain-de-Livet:

At a 15 minutes drive you will find The famous chateau at Saint-Germain-de-Livet, now open to the public, which was built by the Tournebu (later Tournebu-de-Livet) family between 1561 and 1578.

Regional Natural Park of Normandy-Maine:

​

This is perhaps the roughest of the Normandy Parks, at a 60 minutes drive.

There are the highest points of the West of France, on the other hand, there is the diversity of the many natural and remarkable sites, usually associated with a legend.

Not to be missed in the area: Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei, one of the most beautiful villages in France! This village was then the site of many famous artists and painters (Corot, Courbet) where they found their inspiration in the many exceptional landscapes.

Camembert:

​

The birthplace of Camembert cheese, Pays d'Auge reflects Normandy’s generous image.
The undulating Normandy countryside has valleys crisscrossed by numerous streams and is chequered with orchards and fields surrounded by hedges. The inhabitants of the many hamlets scattered at random along the sinuous country lanes lived for a long time in isolation, but as livestock farming developed, their isolation lessened.  You get there  with a 30 minutes drive.

Lisieux:

 

Lisieux is less than a 30-minute drive away: The city is a Catholic pilgrimage site for the holy Theresia of Lisieux.

It is therefore not surprising that Lisieux is considered the second most important place of pilgrimage in France. Every year about 700,000 pilgrims come to the Basilica, built in honor of this saint (the largest church in France built in the 20th century).

In Lisieux you will also find a subtropical swimming pool, bowling center, many sights and even a lasergame center.

 

Cerza/Lisieux:

At a 30 minutes drive more than 1500 wild animals live peacefully in semi-freedom on 70 hectares of forests and valleys at Zoo Cerza.

Honfleur:

Close to Deauville at a 1 hour drive from Val Sery is the old port town of Honfleur.

There are beautiful buildings on the harbor of Honfleur and you can visit countless restaurants.

In the summer it is very busy in Honfleur, it is one of France's most visited places.

Out of season it is for sure more quit.
Walk through the narrow streets and past the shops of the many artists.

Honfleur was very popular among the Impressionists, such as Monet and Millet. They liked to come here to paint because of the special skies and beautiful landscapes around Honfleur.

Deauville:

 

Like at the time of Coco Chanel, Deauville still exudes elegance and style. For many people strolling here becomes a real pleasure.

The pleasure harbor is an absolute must for water sports enthusiasts.
You will not be able to resist a long beach walk along the fine sandy beach.
This Road 'les planches' is famous for the beach cabins having the names of the movie stars who once visited Deauville.

Multicolored parasols and beach chairs are the necessary accessories to fully enjoy the Norman light, light that was so dear to the impressionists, a magical cocktail of sun, waves and clouds that play with sun rays.

The annual American film festival attracts numerous film stars and marks an annual highlight in Deauville. 

You will find Deauville at less then 1 hour drive to the coast.

Ouistreham (Sword Beach, D-Day):

​

Led by Commandant Kieffer, the 4th Franco-British Command Brigade landed on this beach: in Sword Beach (to be precise Ouistreham) which is around a 1 hour drive from Val Sery.

The Espace Historique de la Bataille de Normandie (the area where the Battle of Normandy took place) is one large and impressive open-air museum. You will find - all over the three departments of Calvados, Manche and Orne - all the sights, museums and memorial sites that have to do with June 6, 1944 and the offensive that followed.

A fascinating historic route that will leave a deep impression. 

This route leads you along the impressive beaches and other historic sites of D-Day, but also through the beautiful green interior of Normandy.

Quistreham (Sword Beach) - Courseulles-sur-mer  (Juno Beach) - Arromanches  (Gold Beach) - Colleville-sur-mer (Omaha Beach) - Sainte-Marie-du-Mont  (Utah Beach)

Fervaques:

​

On a 10 minutes drive you will find the Château LE KINNOR in Fervaques, listed as a "Historical Monument" since 1995, located in the two Norman towns of Fervaques and Cheffreville-Tonnencourt, in the heart of the Pays d'Auge, in the Calvados department,   a few kilometers from Lisieux.
A vast ensemble from the 14th to the 16th century, the castle, a major work of the Norman architect François Gabriel, was elected "Jewel of the construction at the end of the 16th century" and was the site of a great history: witness of the negotiations between Marshal Guillaume IV of Hautemer and King Henry IV in the 16th century, he also sheltered at the beginning of the 19th century ...
